Troilus and CressidaI recently ran into an old friend during Reel Downtown (awesome). We hadn’t seen each other in a good couple of years, and it was really nice to catch up. It’s nice to feel like enough time has passed in our lives to give us something substantial to talk about. He mentioned he was involved with Shakespeare By The Sea this year, and opening night was that following Friday. (Although he neglected to mention he was playing a leader role!) I vowed to be there, and despite the cold, boy was I glad I went!The sheer caliber of memorization abilities these actors possess baffles me. With nearly 3 solid hours of dialog and not one slip up that I could pick out. Sometimes Shakespeare can be difficult to watch, as some people seem to just channel Tybalt on a bad day. But not this crowd; with obvious dedication and enjoyment SPBTS steps into what could be another great year for them. For more info times and tickets, click here!
