I recently ran into an old friend during Reel Downtown (awesome). We hadn’t seen each other in a good couple of years, and it was really nice to catch up. It’s nice to feel like enough time has passed in our lives to give us something substantial to talk about. He mentioned he was involved with Shakespeare By The Sea this year, and opening night was that following Friday. (Although he neglected to mention he was playing a leader role!) I vowed to be there, and despite the cold, boy was I glad I went!
The sheer caliber of memorization abilities these actors possess baffles me. With nearly 3 solid hours of dialog and not one slip up that I could pick out. Sometimes Shakespeare can be difficult to watch, as some people seem to just channel Tybalt on a bad day. But not this crowd; with obvious dedication and enjoyment SPBTS steps into what could be another great year for them.

Reasons to be happy:

<3 Two of my friends from Canada might come to visit me in August! We used to be BFF’s when we kids.
<3 A friend - I just made! - in the Netherlands is ordering a few books for me, from the amazing author John Green, which is awesome!!
<3 Some of my friends are going to throw me a birthday party!! (March 31st!)
<3 I finally emptied all my emails from my work and personal account! I’m all caught up again! Hoo Ha!
<3 An old friend is coming to pick me up tonight to go out for supper and a movie! He’s studying in Germany, so seeing him is always a rare and sweet treat!

This is a momentary pause, one that does not feel very satisfying at the moment, but then again everything seems to have a missing edge or corner recently.
This sounds artsy. Let us recommence.

There are flies in my house, because I have been gone for over a week and I don’t think my roommate cleaned whatsoever.

I’m also still extremely pale, with hair which is dyed an unfortunately dark shade of brown.

I have this feeling that things are being made more complicated than necessary, and that soon much tension will be lifted and this elephant on my chest will cease existing.

I’m rereading Catcher In The Rye because of The Nerd Fighters and enjoying it much more this time.

This time next week I will be Holland for two weeks, after which I will have a week to breathe. I’m excited to have my family visit, but there’s a hint of nervousness as they will see the “all grown up” version of their little girl, wish me luck.

Early Saturday morning I returned home from London. The whole experience felt more like one extremely long day rather than the four days it was.
We left unprepared, forgetting adapters and toothpaste, equipped with dead cellphones and minimal cash mostly in the wrong currency.

In the end, it was brilliant to have real milk in my tea in the mornings, meet boys with addictive personalities and shop shop shop at Primark.

I think the lighting in London generally lends itself to an artistic eye.

And now it’s a quick turn around, loads of laundry and off to Germany on Wednesday.
There will be more soon, but at the moment this is just to say, after all is said I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long long time. And I’m finally looking forward to the future in a far less selfish way.

This photo has notes, but I don’t know how to show you.

I’ve been in the capital city of Belgium for two weeks, staying in a Dutch Boarding School.
Things have really been a blur, I feel like I’m disappearing sometimes.
I survived on midnight snacks of olives and pineapples, and discovered hula hooping indoors really doesn’t work.
I have a new camera bag; Pretty Boy XL from Crumpler, it’s fantastic. It’s in the center of this photo on my mattress that I put on the floor because the bed springs were too weak.
During my two weeks away from my apartment, I discovered the thing I missed most was alone time to sit and read, and doing laundry.

I will have more to say soon, and when I have a moment I will elaborate.

This week has been all about old school video games. I bought this arcade controller that plugs straight into your tv and has games such as Galaga, Ms Pac Man, and my new addiction Xevious.
We got talking, and the ever so popular question came up; What is the difference between Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man?
So I googled it:

Pac-Man is very basic and has the same maze for all the levels. The ghosts also follow a set pattern which means if you can memorise the patterns, it is easy to get a high score. Also the fruit bonus always appear in the same place.

Ms PacMan has four different mazes. Ms Pacman moves around the maze faster than Pacman. The ghosts do not follow patterns making the game much harder. Fruit bonuses pop out of the warp tunnels and bounce around the maze. Ms Pacman has a lipstick and a bow.

Well there you have it folks.
The clip was shot during coffee break in the library of the building I work in.
